Ore-to-Margin Screening

Compare a baseline and an alternative from dry ore through recovered and payable metal to operating margin, with retained calculation evidence.

Production Intelligence
Single-metal screening — explicit assumptions, not a metallurgical forecast
  • Dry ore treated = running feed rate × assessment hours × availability. Enter rate while running, not a rate already reduced for downtime.
  • Contained metal = dry ore × grade fraction; recovered metal = contained × recovery; payable metal = recovered × payability. Percent grade divides by 100; g/t divides by 1,000,000 to obtain tonnes of metal.
  • Revenue = payable metal × price per tonne of metal. Operating margin = revenue − selling deductions − variable ore costs − fixed period costs. Negative margins are retained.
  • Both cases use the same period, commodity, currency and grade unit. Changing currency does not convert monetary inputs; review both cases. Prices must be converted to currency per tonne of payable metal first; gold prices per ounce cannot be entered directly.
  • Selling deductions are an explicitly entered equivalent per payable-metal tonne, not a concentrate-tonnage treatment-charge calculation. Avoid double-counting costs.
  • No automatic hardness-to-throughput or grade-to-recovery relationship is assumed. Recovery, availability, costs and feed rate must have independent evidence for each case.
  • Excludes multi-metal credits, concentrate mass balance, blending, inventory timing, royalties, taxes, capital costs and discounting. Not suitable for oil, gas or bulk-product netback modelling.
Use existing source records (optional)

Stored values are starting evidence, not independently verified measurements. Attach only a stage representing ore feed. A measured average rate may already include downtime and is not copied automatically.

Only profile grade, recovery, price, commodity and currency are copied to baseline. Payability, variable/fixed cost boundaries and all operational assumptions require explicit entries. No source records are changed.
